What are we looking for?
We are looking for a senior Kitchen team member who has past experience as a sous chef in a similar environment. You should have a good understanding of procurement processes, although training will also be provided. You must have a good understanding of food hygiene at least to Level 2 or 3 standards. But, most of all we are looking for someone with passion, dedication, a love for food, and someone who is keen to pass on knowledge and help junior team members grow!
Key Responsibilities
· To assist the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen and oversee in their absence
· To ensure the whole team is working to safe and legal practices
· To ensure our training / recipes and culture is followed
· Ensure that chefs have all the knowledge they need and the tools they need
· To ensure the staffing levels reflect business levels
· To ensure all products entering and leaving the kitchens are to the set Jesmond Dene House standards
· To act in a guest centric way and encourage your team to think this way.
· To track, replenish and keep in date order the stock holding.
· To be pro-active with customer comments and complaints
· To lead by example.
