The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will work closely with the Lead Cyber Security Engineer and the Cyber Security Architect to ensure that appropriate technical resources are trained and then aligned to work streams, to ensure a seamless and consistent delivery of cyber security services to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and technical standards.
The post holder will require “hands on” technical skills on a wide range of technologies to support the team in providing cyber security services. The post holder will also require strong proven communication and influencing skills and the ability to develop effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.

As well as being an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer the role
is a “hands on” technical role which requires extensive experience of:
Cloud platforms & architecture including Microsoft Azure IaaS,
On-premise & Hybrid Server, Compute & Storage Infrastructure,
Virtualisation infrastructure environments including Microsoft Hyper-V & VMWare,
Microsoft Windows Server Roles (e.g. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, DFS, Group Policy etc),
Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online etc),
Mail & Web filtering tools (e.g., Clearswift, Fortinet),
VPN solutions such as Microsoft Direct Access or Always on VPN,
Remote Desktop Services & VDI Solutions,
Backup & Recovery Solutions,
Antivirus Solutions (e.g. SOPHOS, Microsoft Defender of Endpoint),
Vulnerability assessment & scanning solutions (e.g. IT Health Dashboard, Tenable Nessus),
Database & Data Architecture including Microsoft SQL Server,
Endpoint Management Solutions including Microsoft SCCM & Intune,
Digital Infrastructure Monitoring Solutions (SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).
