Main duties of the job
Training and Development
- Mohs service development: Train and supervise other Biomedical Scientists in highly specialised Mohs technique
- Mentorship Role: Maintain a link to the Cellular Pathology department on the Queen Alexandra site, helping to train and supervise Specialist Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, and Medical Laboratory Assistants, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth.
- Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of advances in Cellular Pathology and Mohs techniques, with access to a wide variety of training and development opportunities.
- Opportunities for All: While we are looking for someone with the required skills, we may consider candidates with limited or no prior Mohs training who demonstrate a strong passion and willingness to learn.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- IBMS accredited BSc degree in Biomedical Science (or equivalent)
- IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology.
- MSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent).
Experience
Essential
- Significant post-registration experience in Cellular Pathology, particularly in Cryotomy and Mohs techniques.
