Job Summary

We are seeking a permanent senior integration engineer to join the Interweave team.

Interweave have developed a platform, which is owned by the NHS, and consists of several products that enable data sharing across health and social care sectors.

Data is at the heart of the interweave product range and we are looking for an individual who can aid our partner health and social care organisations, in providing their data into the shared care record. Thus, delivering quality, purposeful, timely and powerful data, which will make a real difference to the way in which health and social care services are delivered.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering integration solutions which meet organisational requirements to provide data to the Interweave platform. As such, you must be able to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be encouraged to seek new and emerging technologies which keep Interweave technologies at the cutting edge. There are frequent opportunities to collaborate with the whole team and contribute ideas to the various ongoing projects.

Although the role is advertised as being based in Willerby, the successful candidate can work remotely for most of the time. You will be required to attend, in person, team meetings once a month and meet with health and social care organisations occasionally.

Main duties of the job

  • Fully understand the integration requirements of organisations which provide data to the interweave shared care record platforms
  • Provide designs, recommendations, and advice on the best-fit systems for integration solutions based on an organisation’s requirements.
  • Build and maintain interfaces between different messaging structures and related applications using the appropriate technology.
  • Create and maintain clear technical integration documentation.
  • Plan and lead integration tests in line with the Interweave onboarding process.
  • Ensure high quality data is being provided to the interweave exchange, formatted to the required standards.
  • Investigate and action requests for service and/or change control notifications for integration developments.
  • Keep up to date with emerging integration solutions and problem-solving methodologies and advise on their usage within the Interweave landscape.
  • Maintain advanced management skills to provide support and advice to organisations on their integration solutions.
  • Continually assess processes within the working remit and suggest improvements.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Education and Training

Essential

  • Degree level qualification in the relevant area, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience, for example holding a previous role(s) as an Integration engineer.
  • Understanding/experience of designing and building interfaces between different messaging structures and related applications using industry recognised standards.
  • Evidence of being fluent in a variety of programs and software in relation to the specialist area.
  • Understanding/experience of creating test procedures, performance/integration specifications.
  • Understanding/experience of executing test plans and analysing the results.
  • Understanding/experience of Gathering and analysing requirements and designing solutions to meet business needs.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and/or experimental learning in subjects related to the position.

Desirable

  • Understanding/experience of HL7 v2 messages and relational databases involving designing schemas.
  • Understanding / experience of working with FHIR standards.
  • Understanding of JSON / JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of NHS Data Definitions and terminology including the NHS Data Dictionary and SNOMED.
  • Be a member of a recognised professional body and hold a current professional registration.
  • Member of specialist interest group or network, locally or nationally
  • Awareness of the Data Protection Act, GDPR, and Caldicott Principles.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge across range of procedures underpinned by theory Specialist knowledge and expertise across one or more specialised areas, acquired through degree level or equivalent qualification/experience plus additional specialist knowledge.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the field where the post is held and preferably at a senior level.
  • Evidence of chairing/organising meetings effectively.
  • Evidence ability to work across organisational boundaries, developing and maintaining relationships with multi-professional and multi-agency partnerships.
  • Experience of writing complex, efficient, and easy-to-read user requirements, solution designs, integration specifications and test plans.
  • Organisational networking locally and regionally.

Desirable

  • Proven experience of developing others through education, mentorship, or coaching
  • Working with Healthcare/Social care Information Systems and their data extracts.
  • Working with sensitive information.
