We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed and flexible Support worker to join our Sexual Health Team at Homerton healthcare trust.
The post holder will actively work to create a supportive, friendly, non-judgemental environment, for patients, their families and friends by working as a key member of the multi-disciplinary HIV outpatient team. The post holder will adhere to Trust policies and Values whilst delivering safe, confidential high quality clinical and non-clinical care forthis diverse patient group with complex medical and psycho social needs.
Main duties of the job
Have a sound knowledge base in HIV and related issues in order to inform and compliment the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team as set out in the NHIVNA competencies 2013.
Monitor and evaluate work as required, keeping secure written and statistical records of work undertaken and providing reports as required. Maintain a safe and clean environment in line with infection control and risk policies.
Use medical equipment safely and competently and report faults promptly.
Assist in the preparation and examination of patients and the accurate collection, storage and processing of specimens.Provide care with due regard and respect to the patients customs, culture and preferences.
Perform pregnancy tests, urinalysis, Peak flow, phlebotomy and vital signrecording and reporting competently as required. Be able to calculate BMI, FRAX and CVD risk using appropriate tools according to local and national guidelines. Perform INSTI tests for clients

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
