Job Summary
This post will be responsible for leading RPA automation, design, creation and implementation of automation solutions and integration of these into, and between, existing systems. Providing cost-effective, risk-controlled, robust, reliable, responsive and secure automation solutions, this role will support clinical and corporate transformation needs to assist the organisation in delivering its strategy.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be an expert within their domain and have an in depth knowledge of digital productivity tools including;
- Automation tools primarily Blue Prism
- Understanding and practical application of SQL to build and manipulate data tables.
- Coding knowledge of python or visual basic.
- Designing, using and integration using application programming interfaces (APIs).
- Integration engines using HL7 or FHIR with Intersystems and/or open source Mirth or Rhapsody.
- Use of cloud-based platforms primarily MS Azure
- Deep understanding of NHS smartcards, their virtual applications and use.
The Senior Automation Developer falls within the Digital Service umbrella, which follows the ITIL standard of Service Management. This is critical for empowering technology and process to ensure the customers have the best possible end result. You will be working in the Solutions Architecture section having a real drive to innovate to drive improving, maintaining and documenting new services.

Essential
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification or significant experience of working at degree level
- Management /leadership qualification or equivalent knowledge at post graduate level
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Minimum 2 Years’ experience working as an automation developer
Desirable
- Additional automation training or certification
- Blue Prism Cloud / or alternative practitioner status
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Significant experience of working with automation technology to deliver complex automations
- Extensive knowledge of Blue Prism RPA, iOCR, Blue Prism Cloud Cognitive Tools (language translation, sentiment analysis, keyword classification, interact e-forms, chatbot and orchestrator.
- Practical experience of managing the automation lifecycle complying to the best practice standards
- Experience of engaging with customers on a consultative basis
- Experience of developing solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Flow (Automate).
- Experience of facilitating change in practice to improve services
- Good analytical and problem solving skills – ability to analyse complex data/information and make judgements/ draw conclusions
- Ability to work independently, using own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal – able to communicate complex and sensitive information and use persuasion, influencing and negotiation
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and that of others and adjust plans as required both in the short and long term
- Able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role

Desirable
- Experience of delivering automations using key NHS applications including ESR, ERS, PAS, EPR, Trac, NHS jobs etc.

- Working knowledge of all areas of a hospital in both corporate and clinical areas.
- Understanding of the NHS and current agenda.
