Job Summary
The paediatric and adolescent psychological service at University College London Hospitals is looking for an Assistant Psychologist with experience in neuropsychology assessment and working with children to join the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) team.
You will be part of a lively and experienced team with a strong commitment to research and creative ways of working.
Main duties of the job
This will include being responsible for the undertaking of neuropsychological assessments with children and young people attending UCLH for proton beam therapy.

Knowledge and Qualification
Essential
- An upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology
- Entitlement to graduate membership of British Psychological Society
- Good working knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications (Word and Powerpoint)
- Knowledge of the principles involved in cognitive assessments
Desirable
- Further post graduate experience in relevant areas of professional psychology, paediatrics. Clinical health psychology and/or research design and analysis.

Essential
- Experience of working in a paediatric psychology service
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Experience using word processing and DTP packages for report production
- Experience using microcomputers for databases or data-analysis, especially SPSS for Windows.
- Experience of administering and completing reports for neuropsychological assessments in children
Skills and abilities
Essential
- Confident in delivering sensitive information with tact and diplomacy
- The ability to set up, complete data entry and maintain databases (Excel, Access)
- An understanding of developmental psychology and its application to paediatric psychology.
- Ability to plan, suggest and undertake research, audit and service evaluation activities.
- Ability to form good working relationships and interact effectively with staff from all disciplines in a multidisciplinary setting.
