The Medicines Optimisation team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHST Trust are looking to expand into patient facing roles throughout the organisation.
Our new and expanding team are ward based and you will be involved in the implementation of our medicines optimisation strategy while working closely with the wards and our Pharmacy provider.
Applicants must be a Pharmacy Technician, registered with GPhC. You must also hold an accreditation in Medicines Management which meets the standards of the National Medicines Management Framework or be able to work towards this.
You will work on a part time basis, Monday to Friday, with flexible options available.
With a new and expanding team, now is an exciting time to join us as we continue to grow and implement our medicines optimisation strategy across all of our wards. You will join a small and friendly team, to develop a high quality clinical service in partnership with our clinical pharmacists.
Main duties of the job
To work closely with the clinical pharmacists in the provision of clinical pharmacy services to all community hospital wards and other services within Norfolk Community Health and Care (NCHC) when necessary.
You will participate in medicines optimisation, medicines supply and minimising risks associated with medicines use. Working across multiple community wards and community services you will support the delivery of high quality safe and compassionate health care.
You will confidently communicate with patients, carers and healthcare staff internally and in other organisations to ensure patients are safe with their medicines. This role is key to the medicines optimisation agenda.

Essential
- NVQ Level 3 – pharmacy services / BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
- Accredited checking technician status or likely to achieve within 3 months
- Current GPhC registration – Pharmacy Technician

- Post registration clinical/ foundation credential qualification and/or significant relevant medicines optimisation experience to demonstrate similar level of knowledge
