Test Analyst: Sponsorship Available

Job Summary

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Predominantly Agile working / HQ, Newburn if and when required.

Reporting to the Information Analysis Manager, the Test Analyst will be responsible for organising user acceptance testing (UAT) and supporting end users with testing activities.

 

They will work with development teams, information asset owners and administrators, end users and other groups to ensure some or all criteria of testing are fulfilled.

 

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will possess a Degree Level qualification or equivalent. Will have relevant, work-based experience of test planning, preparation and execution including experience of test design.

Essential

  • Relevant degree or significant experience in understanding of defect & testing tools

Desirable

  • Certification in Software testing
  • Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation

Key Skills, Knowledge and Apptitude

Essential

  • Some test management background within a fast-paced business with experience using multiple testing technologies.
  • Functional test planning, preparation and execution including experience of test design
  • Experience working with IT systems.
  • Ability to deliver predefined projects to agreed timescales/schedules.
  • Good working knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable

  • Working in NHS
  • Working within the constraints of the Data Protection Act Understanding the principles of the Caldicott report.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in user acceptance testing/testing of software.
  • Good test automation scripting skills – Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • The ability to explain technical detail to people with limited IT experience. Ability to work with both clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Good documentation skills
