The Haematology Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) is a highly experienced and educated clinical professional who has developed their skills and theoretical knowledge to a very high standard. They function as part of the medical team in haematology and oncology care and are empowered to make high-level clinical decisions in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with haematological illness.
The Trust has now moved into Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) and the Haematology Team are looking for an ACP (trainees with haematology experience will be considered) to join our team. The role will include taking an active role in clinics, MDT’s and procedures
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist input to haematology patients
Applicants, once fully trained and qualified will be expected to accurately assess and manage complex patients to a high professional standard, predominantly as an outpatient. There will be an opportunity to undertake critical procedures and be part of our planned straight to test pathway for Lymphomas
You will also have high standards of communication skills to be able to discuss patients and their care with a wide range of different members of the MDT, including the patients parent consultant team.
Work alongside the wider Haematology team to ensure the best care is provided to our patients.

Essential
- Extensive post registration experience in haematology
- Experience in a leadership role
- Experience in Teaching and assessing
Desirable
- Experience of initiating/designing clinical audit and/or research studies
- Experience of change management and participating in quality improvement projects
- Experience of writing/implementing protocols/guidelines
Qualifications
Essential
- RGN
- ENB/ Degree course or equivalent haematology qualification
- Physical Health Assessment course
- Clinical diagnostics course (if not a component of physical assessment)
- Independent non-medical prescribing course (and approved by professional regulatory body) or working towards
- Advanced Practice qualification – with accreditation for completion of all theoretical and practical components of the ACCP curriculum as or working towards
- Independent and supplementary prescribing
- Teaching and Assessing qualification
- Leadership or Management qualification
Desirable
- Evidence of higher level learning
