Job Summary
We are recruiting a dynamic and enthusiastic Chief Technology Officer to join us at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a key member of the Digital Senior Leadership Team and will, when required, deputise for the Executive CDIO. They are the professional lead for Digital and Technology Services and the subject matter expert responsible for the development and delivery of the technology underpinnings to the Digital Transformation Strategy of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will report directly to the CDIO and have a close working relationship with partner organisations and colleagues in Bradford Craven Airedale and Wharfedale, West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts and West Yorkshire ICS.
The postholder will ensure new and emerging technologies are evaluated and integrated into the digital strategy and delivery programmes to support improvement and change arising from NHS policy, clinical practice and other significant developments.
The postholder will ensure the appropriate mechanisms are in place to effectively manage cyber security providing assurance to the board that all statutory requirements and proactive security measures are taken.
As the prime technology authority and expert, the Chief Technical Officer is responsible for informing executive level decisions on all aspects of technology strategy and operations critical to the continued effective operation of the Trust and its future strategy.

Essential
- Significant experience post qualification in a senior management position dealing with strategic, financial and governance issues
- Extensive experience of the development and operational delivery of Information Technology at a senior level.
- Experiencing in managing a large scale, complex Business or IT department, focused on the ongoing transformation of products and services
- Experience of both Programme and Project Management including a PMO function.
- Ability to collaborate constructively within Digital Information Services eco system
Skills

- will require the post holder to have specialist training and skills, and to be able to demonstrate continuing professional development within the discipline and at senior management level.
- Demonstrable leadership and communication skills with proven record of working as part of a team
