Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support and personalized care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment where residents feel valued and respected. You will be responsible for assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring patient health, and ensuring compliance with care plans and safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia, autism, developmental disabilities, or requiring hospice care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Observe and monitor patients’ vital signs, health status, and behavioral changes to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards
  • Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management in accordance with dietary guidelines
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient observations, care provided, and updates for care plans
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas to uphold hygiene standards
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies by providing first aid or CPR as required

Experience

  • Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
  • Hands-on experience with patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident transfer equipment
  • Strong understanding of care plans, assisted living procedures, and long-term care protocols
  • Prior roles involving social work or caregiving that demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills
