Job Summary

We have vacancy for a Band 5 Plain Film X-ray Radiographer based at the Glenfield Hospital, but with rotation included to other UHL sites.

Main duties of the job

The well-equipped Radiology Department is fully DR and the plain x-ray workload includes GP access for MSK; cardiorespiratory, renal and hepatobiliary referrals; a variety of out-patient & in-patient examinations and 24/7 Theatre cover. In addition, there is a dental radiography rotation and we also provide a fluoroscopic procedures service.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified radiographer – Degree level or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council registered
  • Evidence of on-going further personal and professional development.

Desirable

  • Certificate of competency in IV injections
  • Computer Qualifications (ECDL)

Experience

Essential

  • A sound clinical knowledge of radiography with the ability to carry out radiographic
  • Competent IT skills
  • Previous experience of working/training in a NHS hospital
  • Awareness of current professional issues
  • Sound knowledge of ionising radiation legislation.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities .
