Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of those in need, ensuring they receive personalised care tailored to their individual requirements. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, promoting dignity and independence.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Help with medication management in accordance with care plans and healthcare professionals’ instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care delivery.
- Support clients in engaging with social activities and community outings where appropriate.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
- Use IT systems to update care records and document observations as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving community visits or outings.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Basic IT skills are required for maintaining electronic care records.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience and empathy towards clients’ needs.
