As part of NHS England’s Growing Occupational Health Vision, our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service is evolving to better support workforce health and wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking, developing service.

We are seeking a motivated Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to support the delivery of a high quality Occupational Health and Wellbeing service for Trust staff.Based at Skidby House with travel across Trust sites, the role involves supporting health promotion, wellbeing initiatives and Occupational Health clinics, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and approachable, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.

 

Main duties of the job

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of Occupational Health and wellbeing services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting health and wellbeing initiatives, including health MOTs and screening programmes
  • Undertaking clinical observations such as blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and agreed checks
  • Supporting the effective running of clinics across Trust sites
  • Providing a professional, supportive service to staffo Maintaining accurate, confidential records and supporting data collection and audit
  • Escalating results outside normal parameters to a qualified practitioner
  • Contributing to health promotion, engagement activity and service improvement

Person Specification

Qualifications, Education & Training

Essential

  • Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience plus additional theoretical or applied training in specific discipline to diploma equivalent level.
  • Sound knowledge of application of behavioural change theoretical principles, to facilitate, motivate and empower individuals / local communities to make substantive and sustainable behaviour change.

Desirable

  • Accredited Occupational Health Technical Course or equivalent through short course / relevant work experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of developing effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience of providing health promoting initiatives

Desirable

  • Minimum of 12 months working in a healthcare environment

Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Able to plan and organise a number of complex activities and programmes.
  • Able to take specific deliverables and use appropriate policies, principles and guidelines to ensure successful delivery.

Desirable

  • Blood Pressure monitoring
  • Pulse taking
