Main duties of the job

To work under the supervision of registered Dietitians to provide follow-up for patients referred to the Dietitian for nutritional support and other dietetic interventions

  • Obtaining relevant information from patients, other staff and electronic notes.
  • Advising and educating patients where necessary on foods suitable for their dietary needs.
  • Identifying patients’ food and drink preferences as necessary and prescribed supplements.
  • Assist in the nutritional monitoring of patients by collecting specified information such as anthropometric measurements, biochemistry, nutritional intake and support the implementation of dietetic interventions, reporting findings to the Dietitian responsible for the patient’s care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good level of general education including A levels and GCSE or equivalents including functional skills level 2
  • An advanced / higher level apprenticeship for example AP apprenticeship or similar and / or NVQ level 4 in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

  • Care certificate

  • Able to demonstrate substantial experience in health and care settings including in the relevant field of work.

  • Demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional developmen
