Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to provide holistic midwifery care to women/birthing people and babies in the antenatal, Intrapartum and postnatal periods. The midwifery care is provided both in hospital, Birth Centre, Day assessment Unit, Maternity Triage and Transitional Care Unit settings.

As part of this we have a number of opportunities for both experienced and newly qualified midwives to join our fabulous team in all Maternity settings.

We have a fantastic package for Newly qualified midwives and a dedicated Preceptorship Lead Midwife who provides invaluable support to guide you through.

We are looking for midwives who can demonstrate kindness and compassion and are passionate about providing gold standard care to the families who choose to birth with us.

Person Specification

Qualifications B6

Essential

  • Current NMC Registration
  • Registered Midwife
  • Maintained an up to date professional portfolio
  • Training in management of obstetric emergencies
  • to have obtained or be studying to degree level (or diploma with equivalent experience)

Desirable

  • Teaching/Mentoring qualification

Experience B6

Essential

  • Recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice.
  • Competencies relevant to sphere of practice.
  • Experience within UK maternity services in the intrapartum setting
  • Midwifery Preceptorship period completed

Desirable

  • Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills
  • Experience of mentoring students
