The Division of Diagnostics and Clinical Support Services is delighted to offer an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and innovative Nurse Consultant in Dermatology. This newly created full-time role (37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 or 5 days) offers the chance to make a lasting impact on patient care, service development, and clinical excellence.
As our Nurse Consultant in Dermatology, you will be an expert autonomous practitioner, leading the strategic development of the Dermatology Inflammatory Diseases Service. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of the service, drive innovation, and work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care for patients across Mid Cheshire.

Main duties of the job
As the clinical leader for Dermatology Inflammatory Diseases, you will play a pivotal role in advancing specialist care across the Trust. You will act as an expert practitioner and professional resource for patients, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues, championing evidence-based practice and delivering exceptional clinical outcomes.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will use your advanced clinical expertise to develop and implement innovative dermatology pathways aligned with national guidance, ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and personalised care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse or equivalent
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent
- Non-medical prescriber
- IRMER trained
- Evidence of clinical practice
- Service innovation and redesign
- Evidence of personal and professional development
Desirable
- Research course & published experience
Skills
Essential
- Autonomous patient consultation
- Extensive knowledge of clinical pathways & pathology for Dermatology cancer patients
- Ability to teach multi-disciplinary team In Dermatology pathway / interventions
- Advanced communication skills to be able to work with newly diagnosed, acutely unwell and terminally ill patients and be able to deliver unwelcome news to both patients and staff.
- IT skills – Microsoft packages to support data analysis and report writing
