Main duties of the job

As an ANP, you will use your expert palliative care skills and highly experienced clinical judgement to contribute to the excellent evidence-based specialist treatment and care the charity provides to patients with complex life-limiting illnesses. You will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing patients and planning and implementing their care to ensure optimum outcomes.  You will also assist the Community Cluster Team Leader with line management responsibilities and the daily clinical leadership of junior colleagues within the community team.  The role involves travel within the community setting, covering the Mid Devon area predominantly, and participating in the seven-day service provision to include on-call.

  • Advanced understanding of the complexities of working with individuals at times of distress and conflict
  • Detailed understanding of the key issues relating to End of Life Care including national strategies and policy development
  • Advanced understanding of theoretical nursing models and their impact on the delivery of care

  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Degree in Palliative Care or degree level qualification in associated field
  • Evidence of ability and commitment to work at Masters academic level or above, incorporating clinical development
  • Advanced Communication Skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Desirable

  • Qualifications and specific training
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration

  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working in order to deliver service improvements
