Job summary

The postholder will provide frontline administrative support, liaise with colleagues and service users, maintain high standards of documentation and processes, contribute to service improvements, and support team performance monitoring.

Main duties of the job

The postholder provides comprehensive administrative support to clinical staff, including correspondence, appointment management, and IT troubleshooting. They supervise and train Band 3 receptionists, take minutes at meetings, manage reports and administrative systems, oversee procurement, maintain service email distribution lists, act as Fire Marshal lead, and report concerns or incidents to the Band 5 admin manager.

Education and qualifications

Essential

  • Evidence of good general education to include GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.

Desirable

  • Interest in continuing professional development e.g., NVQ

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Experience of servicing/minuting meetings.
  • Extensive experience of customer care

Desirable

  • NHS experience

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Use of MS Office software to intermediate level, to include Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Proven ability to allocate work systematically and prioritise workload
