Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join an experienced and enthusiastic ultrasound team has arisen at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. You will be based at Broomfield Hospital which is a busy District General Hospital, with rotation to two local Community Hospitals.
We can offer you a busy, challenging and varied workload, including antenatal ultrasound services, general, small parts, paediatric, DVT and MSK scanning. We provide support to the Early Pregnancy Unit, Urology and Gynae clinics, and you will have the opportunity to work alongside the consultant radiologists on the Emergency Floor, scanning emergency and urgent inpatient cases.

Main duties of the job
You should be committed to providing a patient focussed high quality service, with an interest in clinical teaching, continual professional development, participation in audit and enjoy multi- disciplinary team working within a supportive environment.
To work at an advanced level of practice providing a high quality ultrasound service with comprehensive independently written reports
Communicate highly complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly with Clinicians and patients
To independently prioritise patients and organise workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service
Person Specification
Education & Qualification
Essential
- BSc in Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent
- Specialist short courses in US practice
- HCPC or NMC Registration
Desirable
- Experience in small parts / DVT/ MSK scanning
- Higher qualification in US practice (Masters / PGC)
- Accredited by Fetal Medicine Foundation or DQASS for NT assessment
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Ability to communicate well at all levels
- Extensive experience within hospital US practice
- Demonstrable knowledge ofa range of abnormalitiesand pathologies
- Strong IT Skills
- Knowledge of PACS / RIS systems
Desirable
- Direct supervisory responsibility
- Effective staff management skills
