Job summary

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Short Stay Unit!

About the Unit: Our Short Stay Unit is a 52 bed, fast-paced environment that primarily cares for patients with a length of stay of up to 72 hours. We provide comprehensive care for acute medical patients with a variety of conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Support to Ward/Department Leader:

  • Collaborate with the Ward Sister to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Nursing Care:

  • Deliver and monitor high-quality nursing care for a designated group of patients throughout their care episode.

Learning Environment:

  • Play an active role in fostering a positive and effective learning environment for all team members.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • Well developed communication skills and time management
  • Effective organisational abilities.

Qualifications

  • First Level Registered Nurse

Desirable

  • Critical care skills

Further Training

Desirable

  • Change management and leadership skills.
  • Supervisory skills
  • 997 and 998 or FLIPS
  • Cannulation and venepuncture.
  • ILS

Experience

Desirable

  • Experience in an acute setting

Contractual

Essential

  • Continued Professional Development.
  • Regular Attendance
  • Ability to work flexibly within working hours of ward/department.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and patient advocacy.
