Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust have opportunities available for experienced Emergency Clinical Practitioner our existing Injuries and Minor Illness team. Successful applicants will join our Emergency Department at Warwick Hospital and MIU in Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is a great opportunity to join an Emergency Department which is regularly recognised nationally for our high performance and innovative practice to successfully reduce patient waiting times.

We are looking for an enthusiastic ECP with enhanced clinical skills and a commitment to the continuous development and improvement of this service. You will be expected to drive, deliver and develop best practice always motivated by the aim for excellent care for all. Applicants need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively, as an autonomous practitioner and as part of the team, ensuring the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Trust objectives.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a Nurse, Physiotherapist or Paramedic with enhanced clinical skills and an expert knowledge base, providing a high standard of holistic care in the field of injuries and minor illness.

The post holder will prioritise care needs and work autonomously within agreed protocols managing their own case load, promoting the use of evidence-based practice to ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient care.

The post holder will provide specialist advice and management plans for patients with complex care needs and will provide specialist advice to other members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

The post holder will promote collaborative working relationships to facilitate the rapid delivery of seamless care.

The post holder will work towards the development of the service in collaboration with the ECP Team, ED Head of Nursing, General Manager, Advanced Clinical Practice Lead, Clinicians and other service users, assisting the ENP/ECP Team with any other duties in support of the ECP role and function.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current NMC registration / AHP Registration
  • Degree level qualification in health-related subject
  • Post basic qualification at Diploma/Degree level qualification, specific to the ENP role
  • Non-Medical Prescribing
  • Competent in Manchester Triage
  • Minor Injuries and Minor Illness Qualification

Desirable

  • Leadership/Management qualification
  • Tissue viability

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive post-registration experience, to include significant ENP experience in A&E/Minor Injuries Unit at band 6
  • Evidence of professional development in the last 12 months

Desirable

  • Experience of audit initiatives and other quality initiatives
  • Evidence of implementing research based practice
