Job summary

Provide expert system-level support and technical oversight across all Soft FM digital platforms, including CAFM,Power BI, SharePoint and PowerApps. Lead the full system lifecycle, including configuration, testing, release and review, ensuring strong governance, data integrity and security.

Main duties of the job

Barts Health NHS Trust manages one of the largest operational estates in the NHS, supporting some of the busiest and most complex hospitals in the country. Through a strong group model, we are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and digitally enabled environments that underpin outstanding patient care.

Soft FM services rely on a wide range of interconnected systems, including Synbiotix (CAFM), Power BI, SharePoint, and PowerApps platforms. However, the current support model is fragmented, limiting innovation, integration, and responsiveness.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience managing and supporting operational or business systems.
  • Extensive experience delivering digital transformation and system integration projects.
  • Experience of managing data reporting, analytics, or performance tools such as Power BI.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing CAFM systems or other FM-related digital platforms.
  • Experience of working within the NHS or large public-sector environment.

Skills

Essential

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a complex organisation.

Desirable

  • Skilled in SharePoint and PowerApp development or automation tools.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Thorough understanding of system change control and data governance procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of digital security and information governance requirements.
  • Understanding of CAFM systems, Power Bl, and other analytical platforms.

Desirable

  • Awareness of NHS Digital and interoperability standards.
  • Knowledge of data integration and automation principles.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Master’s level or equivalent experience in digital systems management or data analytics.
  • Foundation level qualification in ITIL or equivalent service management framework.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft 365, Power Bl, and data tools.

Desirable

  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 or Agile).
  • Advanced certification in ITIL or digital systems administration.
  • Training in data analytics, Power Platform, or CAFM systems.

Other

Essential

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with ability to influence at all levels.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to travel across Trust sites as required.

Desirable

  • Interest in emerging digital technologies and NHS digital transformation initiatives.
