An opportunity
has become available for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our expanding
team. We are currently undergoing a period of transformation to roll out the
ICSS model. If you are a great team player, innovative an excellent
communicator and have a track record of delivering high quality patient care in
Stroke then this might be the role for you.
The job would be 34.5hrs
worked flexibly on a rota system covering the county of Worcestershire. We
support flexible working, and the Trust is excellent in supporting well-being.
As
a trust we offer a robust induction period and continue to promote
opportunities for development through 1:1 supervision session, peer working and
in-service training.
This job is for 34.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Day to day, you will be undertaking comprehensive
assessments of mild-moderate-severe stroke patients including those with
multiple pathologies/co-morbidities, using specialist OT assessment tools to
identify their personalised goals alongside the MDT. You will formulate
individual programmes of rehabilitation using clinical reasoning and utilising
a range of treatment skills, targeting realistic and measurable, patient-led goals.
It is also expected that you will offer support and education to
carers/families.
You will attend the weekly MDT in which the team will
discuss the progress of patients and identify goals that are achieved and
ongoing. You will also liaise with other health care professionals within the
Trust/Acute Trust and surrounding borders.
We pride ourselves on being truly interdisciplinary, so you
will also be involved with supporting patients to undertake their personalised
rehab programmes to promote independence. These sessions are part of a
rehabilitation focused approach of which we can evidence great results in
patients regaining independence.

Desirable
- Supervisory/appraisal skills
Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma / Degree in OT
- Post graduate training relevant to the job role.
- Fieldwork educator qualification within one year of appointment.
- State registration with HPC
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Desirable
- Bobath Introductory modules, Harrison Perception & Cognition for Healthcare Professionals, BrainTree Training cognitive workshops.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with stroke patients
- Extensive clinical experience including individual and / or group work
- Rehabilitation experience
