Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivatedresearch assistant to join the Policy and International Health Directorate, to workwith the Specialists Projects team and Health Equity teamin a spilt role.
You will bringdemonstrableanunderstanding and experience in the application of research methods, both qualitative and quantitative,and an awareness of the principles of evaluation. You will use excellent communication skills to work inside and outside of Public Health Wales.
You will use excellent project management skills, for the work you are involved in, ensuring the work programme runs to time and is documented appropriately.
On a day-to-day basis, the post holder will work with theProgramme/Project Leadsand other members of the teamtosupportthe design,deliveryand dissemination of research to support public healthobjectives.
Professionally, they willbe managedbythe Senior Public Health Specialist.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential
- Experience of carrying out literature reviews.
- Demonstrable experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection.
Skills
Essential
- Competence in the use of analytical software for quantitative and / or qualitative analysis e.g. SPSS, R, NVivo.
Knowledge

- Awareness of evaluation methods.

- Ability to travel between sites, including regular travel to the base location (TBC) as well as attendance at directorate away-days (typically in Cardiff).
