Applications who do not have CCT, but are working towards CESR are welcomed to apply and will be offered a Locum Consultant Radiologist post if successful.
Main duties of the job
This post has arisen through an investment in the Radiology department to meet the ever growing demand for diagnostic imaging. Successful applicants will complement a team of existing interventional and diagnostic Consultant Radiologists. This is an opportunity to join an organisation in which clinicians are at the forefront of clinical leadership and management. Consultant Radiologists will be required to work across site on a rotational basis at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven (WCH), this is currently 1:7 weekdays. On-Call workload is managed at Cumberland Infirmary site, reporting for both Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital sites.
There is provision for remote access to Trust IT systems and working from home may be possible with agreement from the Clinical Director. It is expected that the appointee will contribute equally to the out-of-hours-work and on-call rota, currently 1:13 (proposed to reduce further with successful recruitment).
The appointee will, together with the existing consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective clinical radiology service to the Trust and other users of the service.
