Job summary

We are seeking a GP with Special Interest in Addiction Psychiatry for our Inclusion Recovery Hub in Hampshire. This is a part time post for 5 sessions a week, predominately based at the Basingstoke Hub with flexibility to cover Aldershot as required

You will be responsible for implementing and coordinating complex packages of care appropriate to the individuals need and work alongside the MDT to address services users wider care needs

You will provide specialist prescribing to individuals who present at the community drug and alcohol treatment service

Main duties of the job

  • Where appropriate to provide training and development support to staff, trainees and students.
  • To take on a joint responsibility for sound clinical governance.

To contribute as required to relevant audits.

  • To produce reports if required by commissioners.
  • To attend meetings with commissioners if required.
  • To ensure the successful delivery of the specialist prescribing within the service and support

Partner agencies (Primary and Secondary Care, Pharmacies) to meet best practice standards.

Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Medical Degree (MRCGP/MBBS)
  • Fully registered with the GMC and on Medical Performers’ List/Registered with a licence to practise
  • GP applicants must be on the GP register

Desirable

  • Management Qualification
  • RCGP working in substance misuse part I and II (or agreeing to work towards promptly achieving these qualifications)

Experience

Essential

  • Have specialist knowledge of current initiatives impacting on services.
  • A robust knowledge of drug alcohol treatment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of confidentiality and information sharing including child protection

Desirable

  • Knowledge therapeutic strategies e.g.CBT.
