Job summary

This post is for a permanent Consultant Clinical Oncologist with an interest in Head, Neck & Skin based in Brighton, but must be prepared to travel between sites. The workload predominantly relates to outpatient clinical activity, with regular commitments to caring for general oncology inpatients and review of patients in the same day emergency care unit as well as taking part in an out of hours oncology on call rota. In addition the post will require clinical leadership, MDT attendance and active participation, medical student and registrar teaching, there will be clinical leadership and research opportunities.

Outpatient Clinics MDM attendance SACT prescribing Radiotherapy Planning Clinical trials leadership and delivery Acute Oncology team leadership and clinical management Clinical admin generated from patients seen and liaison with other AHPs, and primary care Clinical Governance meetings Ward reviews when appropriate

Experience/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic medical degree
  • MB BS, FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification. or its recognised equivalent.
  • Full and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of the interview. o If you trained in the UK, you must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Oncology or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date. o If you trained outside the UK, you must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT. (Equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
