Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, enthusiastic and highly specialized Cardiac Physiologist/Clinical Scientist to lead and develop our CRM and Invasive service here at UHCW Trust.
UHCW is one of the largest acute Trust’s in the country. With 17 Cardiology Consultants, we provide World Class innovation and research in all aspects of Cardiology.
The post holder will report to the Head of Cardiac Investigations Department, and be responsible for managing a team of Cardiac Physiologists, as well as supporting the training needs of junior physiologists and specialist registrars.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- To work independently as a highly specialist practitioner across the range of CRM devices and invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- To actively contribute to service developments and expansion.
- To manage a team of Cardiac Physiologists, participate in appraisals and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
- Ensure relevant accreditation is maintained for self and team
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- oBSc Cardiac Physiology or equivalent. oIBHRE/BHRS up to date accreditation and registration.
Desirable
- oMSc Cardiac Physiology or equivalent. oRCCP Registered oProject Management experience.
Experience
Essential
- oSignificant experience working independently as a band 7 CP within a Cath lab environment specifically in complex CRM implants and clinics.
Desirable
- oManagement / supervisory experience. oExperience with service development and CP led services. oExperience with implementing change management. oExperience with budgetary management.
Knowledge
Essential
- oKnowledge and understanding of relevant national service specifications and standards for CRM guidelines.
Desirable
- oUnderstanding of the Trust’s policies. oKnowledge of procurement process. oKnowledge of national and local operational KPI’s.
Skills
Essential
- oProven ability to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders. oProven ability to work within a pressured environment. oDemonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
- oAbility to develop service improvements with proven experience. oExperienced with MDT meeting. oProven experience of team development. oAbility to lead clinical governance and to develop SOP’s and COPs as required. oProven ability to analyze data to highlight trends and propose solutions to issues.
