Job summary

The Operations Lead will work with Hinchingbrooke Redevelopment Programme team and the New Hospital Programme (NHP) to lead the operational and clinical planning of all aspects of the Trusts hospital redevelopment programme and provide operational leadership into the NHP. They will strategically drive hospital operations, compliance, and patient-centric care to establish Hospital 2.0 for the programme.

The postholder will be embedded within the HHRP team and work closely with our divisions to prioritise structural works, create and forward plan, anticipate and mitigate any impact on operational delivery or patient care that may arise as a result of the works.

The postholder will also play an important role in the development of plans for the new hospital, acting as a link between the Hospital Operations teams an core HHRP workstreams.

Main duties of the job

The Operation Lead will be responsible for providing senior leadership to colleagues across the organisation to guide the planning and delivery of structural works, mitigating risks to operational service delivery and ensuring duties to EPRR are met through risk management. The Operations Lead will ensure that project management approaches are embedded across divisions, high standards of governance and risk management are maintained, and that teams are working collaboratively to share learning and develop standardised, best practices to decant. The Operations Lead will also report and deliver projects within the defined programme and project management approach.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Masters Degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development through short courses or postgraduate training
  • Major Incident Command training or equivalent experience
  • Proven managerial and leadership experience at a senior level within the NHS

Key Skills

Essential

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, persuasive and facilitation skills

Desirable

  • Experience of engaging at board level, using motivational and persuasive skills, to gain and maintain ‘buy-in’ to changes
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects
