We are seeking two enthusiastic and experienced Consultant to join our busy and dynamic Urgent Care Team at Kettering General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred urgent care within a fast-paced and supportive clinical environment.

Our Urgent Care service includes two Acute Assessment Units: the 24-bedded Middleton Assessment Unit (MAU) and the 20-bedded Clifford Ward. The team also supports our Medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service, which manages up to 70 patients each day, alongside the Planned Care Unit, which sees up to 40 patients daily.

The successful candidate will work closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with urgent and acute medical conditions. In addition to delivering excellent clinical care, you will contribute to service development, clinical leadership, and the continuous improvement of patient pathways.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a substantive or NHS Locum Consultant to join our established team of five Whole-Time Equivalent (WTE) Consultants within the Department.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Acute Physician with a passion for delivering high-quality Acute medical care. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovation and service improvement initiatives while contributing to the continued development of Acute Medicine within the organization.

Applicants should ideally hold a CCT or CESR in Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine, or be within an appropriate timeframe of obtaining specialist registration.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full registration with GMC

Training

Essential

  • CCT holder in Geriatrics or eligibility to be on the Specialist register within 6 months
  • Current certification BLS

Teaching /Audit

Essential

  • Effective participation in clinical audit
  • Experience of post graduate and undergraduate teaching and training at an appropriate level
