An exciting opportunity has arisen as the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics at UHNM. The Allied Health Professionals have undergone a full restructure supporting a leadership framework which you will be part of the implementation. You will be responsible for the clinical leadership and overall operational performance for the service providing professional leadership to all dieticians. This role is pivotal in delivering the National Nutritional Program here at UHNM as well as partaking in the wider strategic direction for our Allied Health Professional workforce.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will lead the Dept on professional and clinical governance issues and be a source of professional expertise in the field of nutrition and dietetics for the Trust.

Responsible for providing support and clinical supervision to dietitians, dietetic assistants apprentice dietitians and students working within Nutrition and Dietetics. Assist the development of others within the department to encourage competent and confident provision of inpatient and outpatient nutrition and dietetic services through in-house training and competency assessment.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as an advanced dietician within a large acute dietetics team
  • Evidence of completion of clinical audit
  • Evidence of service improvement
  • Evidence of professional development of self and others

Desirable

  • Partake with the National British Dietetic Association

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of providing clinical supervision and line management for staff
  • Evidence of service audit, evaluation and integration of research into practice

Education & Training

Essential

  • Post registration evidence of masters level education
  • Recognised formal leadership training

Desirable

  • Supplementary prescribing

Personal Qualities

Essential

  • Excellent written and communication quality
