District Nursing operates as a24-hour service and successful applicants will be expected to work flexibly between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm over 7 days per week as part of the rota.

Travel is an essential part of this role; therefore, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered General Nurse, you will work within our District Nursing Service to provide skilled, patient-centred nursing care to adults within their own homes and a range of community settings. You will collaborate closely with GP practices, Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and wider health and social care partners to ensure care is well coordinated and has a measurable positive impact on patient outcomes.

We are seeking nurses who can demonstrate strong leadership qualities, effective teamwork skills, and the ability to work autonomously when required. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate a genuine interest in community nursing and a desire to contribute to our integrated neighbourhood model. We welcome applicants with transferable clinical skills who are keen to develop their careers in the community. This post requires adaptability, reliability, strong interpersonal skills, and a sound understanding of current NHS developments, including the strategic aim of delivering care closer to home within a ‘One Team’ approach.
