We are seeking a Workforce Projects and Job Evaluation Officer to join our HR Operations team on a 12-month fixed-term basis to support the delivery of a significant Trust-wide workforce review and job evaluation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile project, working alongside clinical leaders, managers, staff-side colleagues, and workforce professionals to deliver fair, transparent, and evidence-based workforce solutions across Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in workforce transformation, project delivery, Agenda for Change processes, and organisational development, while helping to shape the future workforce of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
As Workforce Projects and Job Evaluation Officer, you will lead the coordination and day-to-day delivery of the Trust’s Band 5 Nurse Job Description Review Programme and associated workforce projects.
You will:
- Coordinate project plans, milestones, actions, risks and reporting.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on job descriptions, workforce review processes and job evaluation requirements.
- Support consistency across services and divisions through effective governance and quality assurance arrangements.
- Produce reports, briefings and assurance information for senior leaders and governance groups.
- Work closely with clinical leaders, Nursing and Quality teams, staff side colleagues and Job Evaluation panels to support successful programme delivery.
- Identify, monitor and escalate programme risks, issues and dependencies.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Education & Training
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in HR, workforce, organisational development, business administration or project management.
- Formal Job Evaluation panel training and practical experience relevant to Agenda for Change / NHS job evaluation processes.
- PRINCE2 Foundation, APM or equivalent project qualification.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent HR qualification).
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in an NHS HR, workforce, organisational development, programme or project role.
- Experience of coordinating complex projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
- Experience of supporting or working with job descriptions, job evaluation, organisational change, role review or workforce governance processes.
- Experience of producing trackers, reports, papers and documentation to a high standard.
Desirable
- Experience of supporting clinical or service redesign programmes
- Experience of working with staff side representatives and/or employee relations processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to analyse documents and data, identify themes or risks, and present information clearly.
- Ability to build effective relationships with managers, clinicians, staff side representatives and senior colleagues.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and use of tracking / reporting tools.
Desirable
- Experience of designing templates, SOPs or process guidance.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of safer staffing, skill mix or workforce design considerations
