There is an exciting opportunity to join the well-established Herefordshire
CAMHS. You will support offering assessment and intervention to: children/young
people up to the age of 18; their families; as well as teams around a person. The work will be challenging, exciting and
rewarding.

We offer a
range of pathways including CBT-based and family-based interventions. We also
offer other specialist interventions including EMDR, CAT and psychotherapy.
There are plenty of opportunities to be supported to learn and grow within our
team. We have strong links with our specialist CAMHS teams, as well as external
agencies.

The role
is clinic-based. The role would not ordinarily be across multiple sites,
however this may be required on occasions to meet need.

This is a
full-time role. We will consider reduced hours for the right candidate. Please

Main duties of the job

You
will be offering assessments and care planning/intervention for moderate to
severe mental health presentations experienced by those under 18 years. This
can include providing consultation to teams around a person. The MDT will
support you and your clinical decision making.

There
will be opportunities to offer clinical supervision and deliver
teaching/training where appropriate. We have close links with local training
providers and offer placements to various health care professionals.

We
regularly conduct audits and support research projects to ensure effective
service delivery. There will be opportunities to support these activities.

You
are expected to engage in your own supervision and be able to communicate with
children, young people, families and partner agencies both verbally and in
writing to promote mental health recovery.

We
are a countywide service with some cross county working. We offer clinical
appointments on site but sometimes source alternate locations.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience required specific to the role and clinical area
  • Experience of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working
  • Experience of conducting clinically relevant research
  • Significant experience of supervised practice including working with families and care organisations
  • Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to a wide range of patients presenting with a full range of clinical severity
  • Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for a patients psychological care and treatment

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology
  • Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
  • Evidence of regular continuing professional development through further professional training and experience, as required by the
  • HCPC and the BPS
  • Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS
  • Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
