A great opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or existing Band 5 Occupational Therapist to work within the acute setting of adult care. You must be HCPC registered at the time of application or awaiting HCPC registration

The successful applicant will join the 6 monthly rotations within Therapy Services at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

A full induction will be provided, with regular supervisions and peer support, along with provision of CPD training, as identified through appraisal.

Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose, plan and deliver individual treatment programmes to patients referred to the Therapy service, by six monthly rotations into the following clinical areas:

  • Acute Medicine Team
  • Stroke rehab Ward
  • Trauma & Orthopaedics
  • Neurology outpatients
  • REACT (Emergency Department)
  • Frailty

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Varied clinical placements/rotations as student/qualified
  • Evidence of previous employment/voluntary work
  • NHS experience

Qulaifications & Professional training

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with HCPC

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Able to prioritise
  • Well organised
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and its implications for services
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Able to conduct moderate physical effort throughout the working day and conduct concurrent activities
  • Able to deal with distressing situations and working conditions in a sensitive and sensible manner
