Job summary

As our Clinical Educator, you will lead on the development and delivery of high-quality education and training programmes for registered and non-registered staff working within community services.

You will work closely with clinical leaders, operational leaders, modern matrons, and system partners to ensure staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet the evolving needs of patients closer to home. Through coaching, mentorship, and innovative educational approaches, you will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, starting with supporting the workforce to embed the 9 Core UEC Capabilities into everyday practice and deliver outstanding care across community based services.

Main duties of the job

You will play a pivotal role in developing, delivering, and evaluating education programmes that support workforce competency, clinical excellence, and service transformation across Urgent Emergency Care (UEC), Virtual Wards, and Long Term Conditions services. We are seeking an individual with a genuine passion for education and workforce development, who is committed to nurturing talent, inspiring others, and creating learning opportunities that enable staff to reach their full potential.

A key element of the role will be to support the development of staff in line with the 9 Core Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Capabilities, ensuring colleagues are equipped to deliver high-quality, responsive care. This includes developing capabilities in:

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • oDiploma or Degree in a health profession (Adults) oRegistered Practitioner with current professional registration (Adults) oTeaching and/or assessing qualification or equivalent experience oCurrent demonstrable CPD

Desirable

  • oMasters degree or working towards oEvidence of understanding of community working

Experience

Essential

  • oPost registration experience in urgent community care oEvidence of implementing change in clinical practice oExperience of teaching and assessing in clinical practice oExperience in audit and implementing evidence based care

Desirable

  • oResearch experience oEvidence of conference presentation oJournal publication oOrganisation and facilitation of study events, workshops and training programmes

Knowledge

  • oKnowledge of clinical governance oExperience of clinical supervision and use of reflective practice oUp to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues Awareness of research and audit methodologies.
