Main duties of the job

The
post holder will work with the consultants in Sexual Health and will play an
active role in all aspects of work within the service.

The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team is
essential. Applicants must be both flexible in their approach and be ready to
meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service changes in South
Yorkshire

The team has delivered an integrated
Genito Urinary Medicine and Contraception Sexual Health Service since 2014. The Directorate has an inclusive culture and
the post holder will work as part of a collaborative team with peer support
from Consultant colleagues being readily available.

The successful
candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work including undertaking
clinics in STI and basic contraception.

This post
holder will provide sexually transmitted infection care and contraception in
Rotherham.

The post holder will be expected to work in
partnership with all other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver clinically
effective, safe, high quality Sexual Health Services to the population served.

Research and Audit

Essential

  • Experience of and commitment to clinical and multidisciplinary audit
  • Committed to evidence based practice

Desirable

  • Relevant research published in peer review journal
  • Research interests and appropriate scientific publications

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC
  • Please confirm GMC Number
  • MBBS Medical Degree

Desirable

  • DFSRH
  • MRCP or MRCOG or equivalent
  • Diploma of Genito-urinary Medicine
  • LoC IUD
  • LoC SDI

Experience

Essential

  • Previous NHS experience at Junior Clinical Fellow level
  • Clinical experience in contraception/reproductive health / genitourinary medicine / sexual health
  • Ability and willingness to utilise basic IT technology e.g. email and data bases

Desirable

  • Willingness to develop new approaches to teaching.
  • Ability to consolidate and organise change.
  • Knowledge of the utilisation of IT in clinical practice

  • Good communication skills
