With new and passionate Ultrasound Leads driving service development, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Sonographer with UK experience and HCPC/NMC or RCT registration to join our friendly and forward-looking team. Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports of these scans in line with departmental guidelines;

Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student Sonographers, specialist registrars, and others in training;

Participate in the management of the ultrasound department and in the audit and clinical governance programs;

To communicate with patients, their relatives, and others about the purpose of the examinations and the scan results (in line with departmental guidelines).

To develop ones own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying any training needs to the Lead Sonographer;

To plan and prioritise ones own workload and that of the section to ensure the efficient flow of work, keeping waiting times to a minimum and maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

As a band 7 sonographer you will be providing a supportive learning environment for trainee sonographers. You will be expected to support participation and leadership of the centrally registered audit and continuous improvement programmes

  • HCPC/NMC/RCT registration
  • BSc in radiography/Midwifery
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
  • Experience scanning Abdominal, Obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Awareness of all legislation relevant to the post.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work and inspire a team. Able to create a team ethos and demonstrate motivational skills. E
