Base Location: One of our Community Dental main base clinics – Rotherham Community Health Centre, Rotherham -New Street Health and Wellbeing Centre, Barnsley -The Flying Scotsman Centre, Doncaster.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic dentist to join our motivated and supportive community dental team.
Our service prides itself on providing specialised clinical care for children, young people and adults with additional needs, including treatment under inhalation and IV sedation, as well as general anaesthesia – thus providing ideal opportunities for training and supporting career development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the Consultants, Specialists and Senior Dental Officers to deliver dental care to paediatric patients and adult patients with special care needs referred into the service.
The post holder will be based in clinics based in Rotherham providing high quality comprehensive dental care to identified special care priority groups, working within health centres and domiciliary settings. However, where the need arises the post holder will be expected to also work in clinics in Barnsley and Doncaster.
The applicant must be GDC registered and be eligible for a performer number.

- Full registration with the GDC

- To be eligible to be on the Dental Performers List
Education and Teaching
Essential
- Ability to identify own training and development needs
- Knowledge of data protection, health and safety, COSHH, equality and diversity
Experience
Essential
- Understands the functions of the Community Dental Services
- Kept up to date with professional developments
- Motivated to work with clients with special needs
- Demonstrable experience of providing dental care for children
Desirable
- Wide range of clinical experience
- Varied clinical experience in primary and secondary care
- Experience of providing dental care for patients with complex co-morbidities including those people with additional needs, a learning disability and/or mental health problems; and frail older people
- Previous experience of working in the Community Dental Service
- Experience of working with other agencies
- Experience in general anaesthesia
- Experience in inhalation sedation
- Experience in domiciliary care
