Job summary
We are seeking to appoint Consultant Radiologists to join our friendly Radiology Team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust ( LGT) . We are seeking Breast radiologist, Head and neck radiologist, and Musculoskeletal radiologist with ultrasound intervention, fluoroscopy and general radiology sessions to help complement our team and grow our services team and grow our services. These are new posts which will support acute clinical work and further develop the sub-specialty interests in the department as well as provide additional routine reporting capacity to our already established radiology workforce as we prepare for the activity that will be created when the two South East London Community Diagnostic Centres, hosted by LGT, became operational in March 2025

The job plan will be reviewed annually and may be negotiated to meet service needs.
*The job plan will include plain film, Ultrasound, CT, MR, duty radiologist sessions and a session in lieu of 1 in 8 on call. This frequency is expected to reduce as we appoint new radiologists.
You will be provided with admin support and both office space and work station for reporting.A home reporting workstation will be provided and there is the ability to work an agreed number of sessions from home when on site staffing allows.
On Call Commitment:
On-call is on a pro-rata basis with all the other consultants in-post for all radiology cases, which includes adult and general paediatric imaging. Currently the successful candidate will join the on call which is a 1 in 8 rota. This frequency is expected to reduce as we appoint additional radiologists.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS of equivalent
- FRCR or equivalent
- Full Registration with the GMC
- To be on the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology on the date of commencement in post or to be within 6 months of obtaining CCT on a UK training program at date of interview
Clinical experience
Essential
- Breast radiology,
- Head and neck radiology , musculoskeletal radiology, GI/GU radiology with fluoroscopy, ultrasound and intervention experience General radiology experience in PF, CT, MRI, USS and Fluoroscopy.
Desirable
- Working experience in the UK and either /or
- Nuclear Medicine skills
- Musculoskeletal imaging skills
- General non vascular intervention
Clinical Audit
Essential
- Understand the principles of audit
- Experience required
Desirable
- Evidence of participation in audit projects
- Support departmental audit
Teaching Experience
Essential
- Teaching ability and experience to all staff groups
