Job summary
As a registered, accountable and autonomous nurse act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions. Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of individualised patient care reflecting individual competencies and education that involves relatives / carers as appropriate. To be responsible for the nursing care of a defined group of patients. To ensure that care is evidence based and patient centered. To assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in the clinical area including the teaching and management of more junior staff or those in training.
The post holder will assist in delivering a service which meets target standards and promotes a creative and innovative approach to on-going service development, including the mentoring and management of junior staff, and driving forward Achieving Excellence within the department.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse Part 1 or 12
- Experience in the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with a long term health condition.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable clinical credibility
- Consolidation of Nurse Training
- Competencies in tasks such as IV additives/ECG recording and venepuncture or willingness to undertake
