Midwife: Sponsorship Available

Job summary

We are looking for a midwife to join our integrated team who is keen to work in all areas of maternity care, including in the community, on the Labour Ward and Antenatal and Postnatal Ward and who is passionate about supporting women’s choice. The successful candidate must also be able to contribute to an on-call system.

It is essential that you can drive and very useful if you have access to a car for work purposes. You will be working in the hospital and in the community.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Midwife
• Current driving license and access to a car for community work

Desirable

• Mentorship qualification

Experience

Essential

• At least 12 months recent experience of high risk intrapartum care.
• At least 12 months experience of antenatal care in either hospital or community setting.
• At least 12 months experience of providing support with breastfeeding

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate competence in all areas of midwifery practice.
• The ability to assess, develop and implement individual programmes of care.
• Good communication skills both written and oral with legible handwriting
• A good understanding of a midwife’s responsibility in regard to safeguarding
• Skilled in perineal suturing

Desirable

• The ability to be flexible and to be a team worker.
• A willingness to undertake further training and skills development.
• An understanding of caseload management.
