Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. There is scope within the job plan to develop a special interest. You will join a team of 28 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. This post is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology role covering antenatal clinics, Elective Caesarean sections, General gynaecology clinics, , Gynaecology theatres, Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work) (days and nights) 1:16, Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16, and non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology, 1:16. All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site with elective activities provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
Main Clinical Duties include:
- General Antenatal clinics
- Elective Caesarean sections
- General gynaecology clinics
- Gynaecology theatres
- Resident Obstetric shifts (acute work) (days and nights) 1:16
- Resident Gynaecology shifts (acute work) 1:16
- Non-resident out of hours on-calls for Gynaecology, 1:16
- Clinical Admin time
- Advice and Guidance
- Core SPA 1.5 PA
- Special interest time
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS, MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCOG or equivalent
- SITMs/ATSMs with an appropriate special interest
Desirable
- Higher degree
Entry Criteria
Essential
- Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
Desirable
- Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: -Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) -Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
