We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Band 5 nurses to join the East Area Out of Hours District Nursing Service:

Band 5 – various hours

The aim of the service is to provide a timely respond to patients, families and other healthcare professionals to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, provide advice and support when other help is unavailable.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be quick thinking, with the ability to problem solve, assess and deliver care to patients in any community setting.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC Registered Nurse

Desirable

  • Evidence of post registration study and training eg POVA, Child protection, intermediate life support

Experience

Essential

  • Pre registration evidence in direct nursing care
  • Experience of providing holistic nursing care
  • Interest in developing nursing skills

Desirable

  • Clear Understanding of clinical governance framework
  • Implement evidence based practice

Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Clear understanding of contract of care
  • Ability to document details clearly and accurately
  • Clear undertanding of consent process
  • Basic IT Skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of incident reporting policy
  • Awareness of Policies
  • Knowledge of Incident reporting policy

Personal Disposition

  • Ability to communicate effectively
