Job summary

We are currently seeking applications from GDC registered qualified dental nurses to join our Dental Team at Barts Health NHS trust.

We are currently recruiting for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our team. This is a permanent contract, 5 days per week, 9am – 17:30 which will be based across the Restorative, Dental Department, also supporting Restorative Postgraduate programmes. The main working site will be The Royal London Dental Hospital in Whitechapel.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a compassionate and caring approach to patients, be well organized, well presented, practice excellent Infection prevention and control, be flexible in their approach to work, be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as using their own initiative.

The Restorative Department is formed of a multidisciplinary team which provides a range of dental treatment to our patients, including delivery of care using conscious sedation. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a range of staff including consultants, specialist dentist’s, DCT’s, Registers and Post Graduate students.

Main duties of the job

The qualified dental nurse is an integral member of the dental team. They play an important role in the provision of dental services and the effective operation of the dental institute and outreach facilities.

Essential

  • A Dental Nurse qualification recognized by the GDC as a route to qualification

Desirable

  • Post Certificate Qualification in Conscious Sedation Dental Nursing

Experience

Essential

  • Good level of experience working as a qualified Dental Nurse

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a hospital or similar setting

Knowledge

Essential

  • GDC Registration
  • Evidence of continued professional development
