Director of Clinical Operations & Nursing: Sponsorship Available

Job summary

This is a newly established senior leadership role created through DCHS’s operating model redesign. This role will support DCHS’s evolution as an integrated health and social care provider and is central to DCHS safely and effectively delivering a neighbourhood health model.

With a strong and up-to-date background in nursing, you will bring visible, credible clinical leadership and operate confidently across organisational and system boundaries, influencing change at scale.

You’ll will be a key role model for a high-support high-challenge care delivery environment, ensuring care delivered is safe and effective and truly puts the needs of people and communities at the centre.

Working closely with senior leaders and partners, you will thrive in complexity, balancing professional expertise with strategic insight to drive improvement, develop high-performing teams and ensure outstanding care for our communities.

Main duties of the job

Leads and enables high-performing clinical and professional teams, driving improvement in quality, safety and care experience across a complex organisation.

Works at pace across organisational and system boundaries, using strong influencing, judgement and communication skills to manage challenge, shape decisions and deliver change.

Essential

• Media Training
• Awareness of Equality & Valuing, diversity principles, understanding of confidentiality & Data Protection Act, understanding of care receiver and staff engagement approaches (which could include lived experience of conditions the Trust deals with or of receiving care relevant to those the Trust provides)
• Own transport or suitable alternative is required. Dependence on public transport is not suitable for this role

Qualification

• Masters Degree or equivalent experience
• Evidence of other specialist knowledge at higher degree or masters level
• Clinical Qualification

Experience

Essential

• Significant experience within the health and/or social care sector at senior clinical manager level, including responsibility for safe and effective care across a significant and varied care portfolio
• Knowledge and experience of leading cross organisational/systems, major change and integration
• Proven track record of achieving challenging organisational and system health and/or social care targets
• Experience of leading and delivering significant programmes of change and major policy implementation within and across a health and/or social care setting, which required interpretation and goal setting
• Previous experience of having worked on a senior management on call rota
