Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Fellowship in advanced otology for a 12 month period, commencing in August 2027. The post is suitable for doctors who have completed their SpR or equivalent training and are seeking to extend their experience prior to applying for a Consultant post with a subspecialist interest in Otology. The post will provide a great opportunity to receive further specialist training.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with a team of five Consultant Otologists and will be primarily based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The Otology group provide secondary care to South Birmingham and tertiary services to the population of the West Midlands. The Otology unit comprises general otology and specialist ear services. The fellow will be exposed to multidisciplinary team working in a variety of clinic and theatre settings including lateral skull base, auditory implantation, balance, NF2, hereditary paraganglioma and facial palsy.

Essential
- *Medical Degree from a recognised University
- *FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent
- *Has CCT or equivalent at time of start of post
- *GMC registration at start of post

- *A minimum of 3 years full time post graduate training (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies.
