Job summary
This role will lead the implementation, improvement and development of medical e-Rostering across the Trust, ensuring the programme is delivered in line with agreed objectives, governance arrangements, timescales, benefits and service requirements. The post holder will provide project, business administration, service improvement and development expertise, translating operational requirements into practical delivery plans and embedding sustainable business-as-usual arrangements.
The post holder will work with clinical, operational, corporate and external stakeholders to support change, standardise processes, strengthen governance and improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of medical workforce services.
They will act as a key point of contact for medical e-Rostering, providing specialist advice, guidance, reporting and escalation support to ensure workforce issues, risks and opportunities for improvement are identified and addressed.
The post holder will support Medical Workforce issues, including queries relating to medical and dental terms and conditions, rota compliance, working patterns, job planning alignment and workforce processes. They will work closely with other members of the medical workforce service to provide accurate advice, identify themes and risks, support consistent decision-making and ensure issues are escalated and resolved in line with Trust policy, governance requirements and best practice.
Main duties of the job
Lead the implementation, improvement and development of the medical e-Rostering system, ensuring robust programme planning, governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, benefits realisation and transition to business as usual.
Working with the Head of Medical Workforce, be responsible for project initiation, planning, delivery, implementation, risk and issue management, benefits tracking, project closure and post-implementation review.
Work with Care Groups to develop standardised, efficient and compliant rostering processes that meet service needs, improve user experience and support effective deployment of the medical workforce.
Lead improvement and development activity across the medical e-Rostering programme, using structured project management, service improvement and change management approaches to deliver measurable outcomes.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in business administration, project management, service improvement, workforce systems or a related discipline.
- Experience of leading or supporting implementation, improvement and maintenance of digital workforce, e-Rostering, project or business administration systems within a complex organisation, preferably within the NHS.
- Ability to lead complex project, business administration, improvement and development activity across a wide range of individuals and professional groups,
Desirable
- Project management, change management, service improvement, such as PRINCE2, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, QSIR,
- HR CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
